Festival Ikonik SA Sentral 2024 was a three-day festival held from 6 to 8 September 2024 at Galeria SA Sentral, Shah Alam. Organised by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) and officiated by the Menteri Besar of Selangor, it celebrated the launch of SA Sentral, the masterplan transforming Section 14 of Shah Alam into a modern central business district. Creative Creed Associates Sdn. Bhd., a creative agency for events and exhibitions, executed the festival.
The brief
A development launch usually speaks to investors and officials. PKNS wanted SA Sentral's launch to reach the wider community as well, connecting a large urban development with the people of Shah Alam. The festival format did that: an official launch for the masterplan, wrapped in a weekend that residents would choose to attend.
What Creative Creed delivered
Creative Creed turned the venue into a community hub for the three days, with:
- food trucks;
- interactive family games;
- curated lifestyle booths;
- the official launch ceremony;
- Konsert Ikonik, the festival's headline concert.
The mix was deliberate: food, games and lifestyle booths kept families on site through the day, while the launch and concert gave the weekend its headline moments. Audio-visual, staging and technical elements were delivered by our event technical team with specialist partners.
Konsert Ikonik
The weekend peaked with Konsert Ikonik, which drew large crowds for live performances by Malaysian rock band Bunkface and singer Baby Shima. Putting a concert at the end of a launch weekend gives the community a reason to stay, and turns an official occasion into a shared one.
The result
Festival Ikonik bridged urban development and community celebration: an official launch for SA Sentral, and a weekend festival for the city it is being built in. The project is one of a series of Shah Alam public events Creative Creed has delivered, alongside the MBSA Jubli Perak 2025.
